(This page updated on a fairly regular basis during Mardi Gras season)

March 2, 2019 - World Famous Cajun Extravaganza/Gumbo Cook-Off, Civic Center, 8am - 2pm
Amateur and professional teams will stir up hundreds of gallons of rich, spicy gumbo and serve it at the Cajun Extravaganza and Gumbo Cook-off, which is a Mardi Gras tradition among krewes, professionals and amateurs in Southwest Louisiana. The event is a must-be-there mix of award winning food, floor-stomping music, and the down-home spirit of Mardi Gras. Our own team of seasoned experts (consisting of our Marshall LaFosse, Mark LeJeune, Brian Roach and James Guidry) will be cooking chicken & sausage gumbo. They will be trying to score that 1st Place trophy again so wear your Krewe shirts and come on out and cheer them on!
Admission is $5, and children 5 and under are admitted free and you get to eat as much gumbo as you want. Gumbo contestants begin cooking at 7:30 a.m., doors open at 8 a.m. and judging is at 11:30 a.m., with gumbo served immediately afterward until 1:30 p.m. There are three categories: chicken and sausage, seafood and wild game, and there are amateur and professional divisions.

March 3, 2019 - Children's Parade
Sunday the Children's Parade rolls down Ryan beginning at 3:30 pm.
Come on out and join your Krewe friends at the parking lot of Flavin Realty, 3221 Ryan St., for a laid back, relaxing day of socializing and watching the parade. The Krewe's BBQ wagon will be there and if you would like to, you're welcome to bring and burn your own fast cooking food. There will be free grilled hot dogs for the kids and usually members graciously donate sausage and boudin to grill for all to snack on. Don't forget to pack a lawn chair or two.
Robbie Ortego will have Krewe merchandise for sale that day also. Since Dan Flavin has been kind enough to allow us to again setup at the Flavin Realty parking lot, PLEASE do your part and keep the grounds as clean as possible. We are responsible for cleaning up afterwards, so try to pick up any trash you see on the ground.

March 4, 2019 - Royal Gala
The Cinderella night of Mardi Gras manifests on Mardi Gras eve with a lavish promenade of more than 60 krewes’ royalty. This display of kings and queens, royal dukes and duchesses, captains, courtesans, and jesters in museum quality costumes will be in full display, complete with music and dancing for everyone at the second largest Mardi Gras in Louisiana.
Please wear your Krewe du Lac colors and come out and cheer on our new Best Court Ever as they strut their stuff at the Civic Center. Unless something changes, our Krewe normally takes over Section 201 or 227 in the CC Coliseum, which is on the south end.
Tickets are $6 in advance, or $7 at the door. Children 5 and under are admitted for free. Tickets usually can be purchased in advance at the following locations: Joseph's Electric, Gordon's Drug Store, Moss Bluff Flower Shop, Hamilton House in Sulphur and Party Time Store on Lake Street.

March 5, 2019 - Mardi Gras Day! Parking lot of Flavin Realty, 3221 Ryan St.
Tuesday is Mardi Gras, the big day, all day! Our Krewe will again have a secured area in the parking lot of Flavin Realty, 3221 Ryan St. The BBQ wagon will be fired up and available for people who want to bring & burn their own fast cooking food. A D.J. will be playing your favorite tunes for those who want to dance and we'll be toasting our new Best Court Ever! We'll also have samples of grilled sausage, boudin and/or other goodies that generous members provide throughout the morning.
You are encouraged to bring a side dish, dessert or snack to share with others too. So pack up your ice chests and lawn chairs and come out and enjoy the parade and the fellowship of Krewe membership!

Since Dan Flavin has been gracious enough to allow us to again setup in his parking lot, PLEASE do your part and keep the grounds as clean as possible. We are responsible for cleaning up afterwards, so try to pick up any trash you see on the ground. Any volunteers who can help take down the plastic fence and pack up the BBQ wagon after the parade is over would also be greatly appreciated!Krewe Members & Guests.
